A third Marchantia beta-ketoacyl-CoA synthase (KCS) gene (GenBank AY308831, Yamaoka et al.), compared with MpFAE3 at the amino-acid level. Its overexpression in M. polymorpha did not alter fatty-acid composition or morphology, unlike MpFAE2/MpFAE3. NOTE: the curated table listed MpFAE1 under PMID12723610, but MpFAE1 is actually named in THIS paper (12951498); 12723610 contains no MpFAE1 (its 'FAE1' refers to Arabidopsis FAE1).
